Today, Xpeng officially announced the start of pre-sales for its new mid-size SUV, the Mona L05. The vehicle is available in five configurations, with a pre-sale price range of 169,800 to 191,800 yuan (25,300 to 28,600 USD). The official market launch is scheduled for October 29.

Design and dimensions

The Mona L05 continues the brand’s “Starship” design language, featuring an active grille shutter (AGS) integrated into the front bumper. It is complemented by a 102L front trunk.

The side profile showcases two-tone wheels, floating side mirrors, yellow brake callipers, and frameless doors. The L05 measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,636 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,940 mm. The rear is highlighted by a full-width “Star Ring” taillight assembly containing over 300 laser-engraved LEDs. The rear cargo area offers a capacity of 702L, which can be expanded to 1,913L.

Interior and technology

Inside, the L05 features an enveloping cockpit design equipped with a 17.3-inch central infotainment screen and a 26.8-inch W-HUD. The cabin includes 22 expansion ports for various accessories, such as action cameras.

The front seats offer leg and lumbar support, massage, heating, and ventilation functions. The front passenger seat includes a one-touch “zero-gravity” mode. Rear passengers benefit from heated seats, privacy glass, a small table, a 17.3-inch entertainment screen, and drawer-style storage under the seat cushion. The vehicle also features a two-section panoramic roof.

Powertrain and performance

The Mona L05 offers both pure electric (EV) and extended-range (EREV) powertrain options:

• Pure electric version: Equipped with a motor producing 183 kW (245 hp) and a 71.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. It is available in four CLTC range variants: 615 km , 635 km , 640 km , and 660 km .
• Extended-range version: Features a 1.5L engine (70 kW) paired with a 183 kW (245 hp) electric motor and a 37.2 kWh battery. It offers a CLTC pure-electric range of 310 km and a combined range of 1,310 km.

The vehicle is built with a front MacPherson strut and rear multi-link independent suspension system.

Xpeng also announced today that, in the two years since the Mona series launched, cumulative deliveries have exceeded 350,000 units.
