Design and dimensions
The ID. Era 8X adopts the brand’s latest design language. The front fascia features the “Universal Light Wing” full-width light strip and iconic L-shaped daytime running lights. The headlights utilise a new “six-core high-energy” design, which supports dynamic light effects for vehicle status updates and welcome ceremonies.
The vehicle measures 5,020 mm in length, 1,997 mm in width, and 1,750 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,970 mm. Its design features a low-slung stance with a window-to-body ratio of nearly 1:2, complemented by short front and rear overhangs to reduce the visual bulk typical of traditional SUVs.

Interior and intelligence
Inside, the vehicle is equipped with the “Yunqi” smart cockpit, featuring an industry-first “Smart Surface” magic screen, dual high-definition screens for the driver and front passenger, and a W-HUD (windshield head-up display). Comfort features include Nappa full-grain leather upholstery, front-row zero-gravity seats with 10-point massage, heating and ventilation for both front and rear seats, and a 12L dual-opening smart refrigerator.
For intelligent driving, the ID. Era 8X is equipped with LiDAR and utilises the Momenta R7 world model.
Powertrain and performance
The ID. Era 8X is powered by a “Golden Extended-Range System” based on the EA211 engine, incorporating Miller cycle technology and a Porsche-style VTG variable geometry turbocharger. The system delivers a peak torque of 660 N·m, enabling a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 4.6 seconds.
Built on an 800V high-voltage platform, the vehicle offers two battery options: a 51.1 kWh LFP battery by Zenergy and a 65.2 kWh NCM battery by CATL. The 65.2 kWh version provides a CLTC pure electric range of 451 km (365 km WLTP) and a combined range of up to 1,602 km (1,298 km WLTP). Additionally, the SUV features the “Xingyun” intelligent chassis and a closed-loop dual-chamber air suspension system with a 150 mm adjustment range.
