- The MG 07 was launched on August 21 with a limited-time starting price of 105,900 yuan ($15,620).
- MG4 series sales exceeded 17,000 units in August.
SAIC Motor's (SSE: 600104) MG brand said it began deliveries of the MG 07 sedan in China on Tuesday.
Firm orders, or locked-in orders, for the new model have exceeded 31,000 units, MG said on its social media channels Tuesday.
The figure covers the period from August 21 to August 31, the first 11 days after the model's launch.
The MG 07 has a limited-time starting price of 105,900 yuan ($15,620), compared with an official starting price of 108,900 yuan.
The sedan was launched on August 21, the opening day of the Chengdu Auto Show. Firm orders exceeded 10,000 units within 1 minute and 57 seconds of the order book opening that evening, beating the MG4's previous record of 39 minutes and 37 seconds.
MG general manager Chen Cui said at the time that pre-orders for the MG 07 reached 45,000 units on the first day of launch and rose to 59,000 the following day.
The order mix also exceeded MG's expectations. Versions with a CLTC range of more than 800 kilometers accounted for over 45% of orders, Chen said at the time.
The MG 07 is offered in 7 battery electric and plug-in hybrid variants. The top battery electric version is built on an 800-volt platform and features a 91-kWh battery from CATL (HKEX: 3750), delivering a CLTC range of 845 kilometers and supporting 5C fast charging.
The plug-in hybrid version has a battery-only range of 245 kilometers and a combined range of 1,745 kilometers.
MG previously said deliveries of the 650-kilometer-range version would begin in late August, while the 845-kilometer-range version is scheduled to start deliveries in October.
The MG 07 is the brand's first model equipped with LiDAR and the first to feature Chinese autonomous-driving technology provider Momenta's (HKEX: 6880) R7 world-model driver-assist system. It also uses the Xheart X7 chip designed specifically for large models.
Its cockpit features an 8295P chip and a 15.6-inch 2.5K central display.
To accommodate demand, MG has expanded its effective sales network in China from fewer than 200 outlets to nearly 500 over the past year, while adding about 100 pop-up stores.
MG4 series sales exceeded 17,000 units in August, the brand said Tuesday. The 2026 MG4 has a limited-time subsidized starting price of 65,800 yuan, while the MG 4X starts at 92,800 yuan.
