• Zeekr's August deliveries rose 109.8% year-on-year and 3.19% from July.

Zeekr, the premium brand of Geely Auto (HKEX: 0175), delivered 36,981 vehicles in August, up 109.81% year-on-year and 3.19% from July, according to data released Tuesday.

It marked the fifth consecutive month that Zeekr set a monthly delivery record. The brand delivered 35,837 vehicles in July.

Zeekr delivered 251,188 vehicles in the first 8 months of the year, up 100.40% year-on-year.

Cumulative deliveries since its first vehicle deliveries in 2021 reached 894,077 units, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Zeekr said on Weibo today that its global user base was approaching 900,000.

The brand's strong momentum has been partly supported by the launch of a five-seat version of the Zeekr 9X hybrid SUV (sport utility vehicle).

Zeekr launched the five-seat Zeekr 9X on July 28, with a limited-time starting price of 451,900 yuan ($66,640). The strategy is similar to Nio Inc's (NYSE: NIO) approach with the ES8.

Zeekr also made new progress overseas in August, saying that exports of the Zeekr 9X officially began during the month.

The brand previously said it planned to launch the 9X in overseas markets in the third quarter, followed by the Zeekr 009 Grand.

Global orders for the family-oriented Zeekr 7X SUV surpassed 200,000 on August 24, with the milestone order coming from Mexico.

The model is currently Zeekr's biggest sales contributor. It delivered 62,865 units from January to July, accounting for 29.35% of the brand's deliveries.

Zeekr also said cumulative global deliveries of its shooting-brake models had exceeded 400,000 units.

The Zeekr brand is currently present in more than 50 countries and regions.
