- Nio ES8 deliveries rose 6.91% in August from July, accounting for 51.95% of the Nio main brand's monthly deliveries.
- Deliveries totaled 99,946 in the first 8 months, with the addition of a five-seat variant continuing to expand the flagship SUV's potential customer base.
Deliveries of Nio Inc's (NYSE: NIO) third-generation ES8 remained above 10,000 last month, pushing its year-to-date total close to the 100,000 mark.
The large electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) delivered 10,999 units in August, exceeding 10,000 for the second consecutive month and showing continued sales momentum following the launch of a five-seat variant.
Nio announced the figure on Weibo on Tuesday, representing a 6.91% increase from the revised July figure of 10,288 units.
ES8 deliveries surged more than 125-fold year-on-year in August, largely because the model was undergoing a generational changeover in the same period last year, when just 87 units were delivered.
Nio said last month that the ES8 delivered 10,286 units in July. Data subsequently released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) showed 10,288 units for the month, and CnEVPost to revise the figure accordingly.

The ES8 accounted for 51.95% of the Nio main brand's 21,174 deliveries in August and 30.69% of Nio Inc's total deliveries of 35,836 units, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
ES8 deliveries totaled 99,946 units in the first 8 months, up 2,231.92% year-on-year and just 54 units short of 100,000.
The SUV accounted for 62.21% of the main Nio brand's deliveries during the period and 38.02% of Nio Inc's total deliveries.
Cumulative deliveries of the third-generation ES8 have exceeded 140,000 units since they began in late September 2025.
The model reached 140,000 cumulative deliveries on August 21, just 30 days after reaching 130,000, indicating that its recent delivery pace has remained strong.
The five-seat variant has been one of the key drivers of the recent growth. It was launched on July 9 and deliveries began the following day, expanding the ES8's coverage from the premium three-row SUV market to the large five-seat segment.
The five-seat variant starts at 382,800 yuan ($56,450) including the battery pack, 5.9% lower than the three-row versions. Its starting price falls to 274,800 yuan under the BaaS (battery as a service) plan.
The ES8 ranked first in July retail sales in both China's large SUV market and the 400,000-yuan vehicle segment, Nio said, citing CPCA data. It also ranked first in cumulative sales in both segments during the first 7 months of the year.
Battery electric vehicle sales in China's large three-row SUV market have exceeded those of extended-range electric vehicles for 11 consecutive months, Nio said. Sales of large five-seat electric SUVs have increased month-on-month for 4 consecutive months and surpassed plug-in hybrids for the first time.
To maintain sales momentum, Nio extended the ES8's purchase incentives through September 30. They include a 5-year low-interest financing plan with 0 down payment, a 10,000-yuan options credit, and 5 years of free access to NOP+ (Navigate on Pilot Plus).
