Huawei-backed Aito will enter the European market in autumn 2027, the company announced at the Paris Motor Show on October 12. The announcement confirms earlier leaks about a European launch next year and provides a more specific timeline.
The brand, jointly developed by Huawei and Seres, has begun work on EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA), Aito confirmed at today’s media event, which CarNewsChina attended. The approval process forms part of its preparations to sell vehicles in Europe.
Aito’s Paris lineup comprises four SUVs: the Aito 6, Aito 7, Aito 8 and Aito 9 – those are international names. The flagship Aito 9 is known as the M9 in China, and the Aito 6 as the M6. Their appearance at the show doesn’t indicate which models will be offered when European sales begin, but it offers a hint. Aito did not identify initial markets, launch models, or prices during the press event.
Aito launched in December 2021 and is one of China’s largest EV brands. It sold 420,000 cars in 2025 and plans to reach 1 million vehicles annually by 2030. It focuses on BEVs and EREVs.

The European move follows Aito’s expansion into the Middle East. In February, the brand signed a cooperation agreement with Performance Plus Motors, a subsidiary of UAE dealer Abu Dhabi Motors, covering sales, deliveries, and after-sales services. The partners also outlined plans for experience and service centers. Aito said at the time that customer test drives of the Aito 9 had begun in the UAE.
Seres already has experience selling vehicles in Europe under its own name. It delivered its first Seres 5 vehicles in Bergen, Norway, through local dealer Sandven AS in June 2023. However, as Huawei, Seres’s major partner in Aito, faces growing restrictions in Europe, entering the market with the new brand may be harder.
The overseas expansion comes as Huawei and Seres deepen their cooperation on Aito in China. The companies signed a new five-year agreement on September 30 and announced plans to establish a dedicated joint Aito team.
An earlier announcement on September 15 said Seres would lead Aito’s product operations, marketing, retail, and service network, with Huawei providing support. Aito remains part of the Huawei-led Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, or HIMA, and uses Huawei’s ADS assisted driving and HarmonyOS digital cockpit infotainment.
