Geely announced on October 20, 2026, that it had rolled off the production line its millionth Geely EX2, reports IT-Home. Known as the Xingyuan in China, the electric hatchback debuted in October 2024, about two years before the milestone. The figure refers to cumulative production, not domestic retail sales.
Production and global sales footprint
Geely reported production milestones of 200,000 units in May 2025, 600,000 in March 2026, 800,000 in August 2026 and one million in October 20. A separate figure of 500,000 units reported in December 2025 referred to customer deliveries, not confirmed factory output.
In China, the EX2 recorded 465,775 retail sales in 2025, according to China EV DataTracker data. It sold 194,159 units in the first half of 2026, with monthly sales then rising from 32,306 in July to 39,651 in August and 44,275 in September. January–September sales totalled 310,391 units, while the trailing 12-month total was 432,815.
The EX2 has entered markets across Latin America and Southeast Asia, as well as Australia and the UK. In some markets, it is sold as the E2. Local assembly began in Purwakarta, Indonesia, in January 2026. In Brazil, Renault-Geely do Brasil confirmed on September 15 that production at the Ayrton Senna complex was scheduled to begin in December 2026. Geely has not disclosed how many of the one million vehicles were made for China and how many were destined for export.
Powertrain, battery and range
China’s Xingyuan uses Geely’s Global Intelligent Electric Architecture (GEA), with a rear-mounted motor, rear-wheel drive and an independent multi-link rear suspension. By comparison, the BYD Seagull and Wuling Bingo use front-wheel drive and torsion-beam rear suspensions as standard.
Depending on the version, the motor produces 58 kW (78 hp) or 85 kW (114 hp). It uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries marketed under Geely’s Aegis Short Blade branding. The listed battery capacities are 30.12 kWh and 40.16 kWh, paired with CLTC ranges of 310 km and 410 km, respectively. Using standard cycle conversion, those figures give estimated WLTP ranges of 254 km and 336 km. A May 2026 update added a 480 km CLTC version (about 394 km WLTP) and introduced the Flyme Auto 2.0 cockpit system.
The 2026 lineup’s limited-time promotional starting price was 61,800 yuan (9,235 USD) for the 310 km CLTC (254 km WLTP) version. The 480 km CLTC (394 km WLTP) version was listed at 86,800 yuan (12,970 USD) before an applicable 3,000-yuan subsidy (450 USD), bringing the price to 83,800 yuan (12,520 USD).
The EX2 has a 70-litre front trunk and a 375-litre rear luggage compartment. Folding the rear seats expands cargo capacity to 1,320 litres.
