At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Seres, the manufacturer of the Huawei-backed brand Aito, officially announced that Aito is set to enter the European market in the autumn of 2027.
To facilitate this global expansion, Aito is adopting a “Bosch Inside” partnership model for its overseas lineup. According to industry insiders quoted by 36kr, the international versions of the Aito 6, 7, 8, and 9 will be developed in collaboration with the global automotive giant Bosch. These vehicles will feature a suite of Bosch’s intelligent technologies, covering advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), intelligent cockpits, and chassis systems.
Development for these overseas models is already underway, with plans to mass-produce high-speed Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) capabilities by September of next year.
While Aito has achieved success in China through its deep collaboration with Huawei, sources indicate that for the overseas market, Seres Group has taken the lead in decision-making. The “Bosch Inside” model is described by those close to the project as being conceptually similar to Huawei’s “Huawei Inside” (HI) model, leveraging the international expertise and regulatory familiarity of a global partner to navigate the complexities of the European market.
Global competition
The push into Europe comes as Chinese automakers face intensifying competition and cost pressures in their home market. With domestic retail sales experiencing a downward trend, brands are increasingly looking to overseas markets to establish new growth engines.
Aito’s entry into Europe follows previous attempts by other high-end Chinese brands, such as Nio, which faced challenges in the region due to brand recognition and the complexities of establishing sales and service networks. To ensure a smoother transition, Seres has reportedly integrated its overseas business unit into the Aito Business Group, streamlining the coordination of research, development, and market strategy.
