- Li Auto delivered 37,679 vehicles in August, marking its highest year-on-year growth rate in two years.
- Deliveries in the first 8 months totaled 261,619 vehicles, down slightly by 0.6% year-on-year.
Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) delivered 37,679 vehicles in August, a 32.07% increase from the same period last year — the highest growth rate in two years, according to data released on Tuesday.
This ended three consecutive months of year-on-year declines, indicating a rebound in sales following a new round of product launches.
In the first 8 months of the year, Li Auto delivered 261,619 vehicles, down slightly by 0.6% year-on-year, data compiled by CnEVPost shows.
The company's cumulative deliveries reached 1,801,834 vehicles by the end of August.
Li Auto last month guided for third-quarter deliveries of 95,000 to 100,000 vehicles. The company delivered a combined 68,147 vehicles in July and August.
This means Li Auto would need to deliver 26,853 to 31,853 vehicles in September to meet its third-quarter guidance.
However, pressure on full-year sales remains high. If its annual delivery target remains unchanged at about 490,000 vehicles, the company would still need to deliver 228,381 vehicles in the final 4 months.
That would require average monthly deliveries of about 57,100 vehicles from September through December, roughly 52% above its August level.
Li Auto has refreshed the extended-range SUV (sport utility vehicle) models in its L series over the past 3 months and is counting on new products and software upgrades to sustain the sales recovery.
The company will launch the new-generation Li Mega flagship electric MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) on September 2, featuring upgrades to its interior, cabin experience, intelligent platform and driving dynamics.
Li Auto also plans to launch the Li i9 flagship battery electric family SUV in mid-September.
The company will roll out Mach VLA to vehicles based on the Thor and Orin-X platforms in September and hold a product launch event in Dubai to officially begin sales in the Middle East.
As of the end of August, Li Auto operated 487 retail stores in 160 cities and had 533 service centers and authorized service shops in 218 cities.
The company operated 4,162 supercharging stations with 22,939 charging stalls in China.
