- Global deliveries rose 80.7% year-on-year in August, though sequential growth slowed to 1.84%.
- Deliveries totaled 560,883 vehicles in the first 8 months, achieving about 56% of the full-year target of 1 million.
Leapmotor (HKEX: 9863) delivered 103,129 vehicles globally in August, surpassing 100,000 for a second consecutive month and setting a record for the fifth straight month.
The monthly deliveries rose 80.72% year-on-year, though sequential growth slowed to 1.84% from 8.45% in July, marking the weakest monthly pace since March.
The automaker, backed by Stellantis NV (NYSE: STLA), said on Tuesday, that it ranked among the top 4 global passenger new energy vehicle (NEV) brands and the top 3 Chinese brands based on recently comparable end-user registration volumes.
Leapmotor delivered 560,883 vehicles in the first 8 months of the year, up 70.55% year-on-year. Its cumulative deliveries since it began delivering vehicles in 2020 reached 1,756,986, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
That means the company has achieved about 56.1% of its full-year target of 1 million vehicles.
Leapmotor needs to deliver another 439,117 vehicles in the remaining 4 months, equivalent to a monthly average of about 109,779.
New models are a key lever for narrowing the gap. The A05 compact sedan was launched on August 11 with a starting price of 63,900 yuan ($9,420), becoming the second product on the A platform after the A10.
At the Chengdu Auto Show, which opened in August, Leapmotor delivered the 100,000th A10 to its owner.
The company will also hold its annual technology event on September 16, unveiling a new world-model-based assisted-driving system as well as advances in battery and electric-drive technologies.
CFO Li Tengfei said last month that assisted-driving products built on the new architecture would represent a "leapfrog improvement" over the existing system.
Leapmotor launched a limited-time promotion in September offering combined incentives worth as much as 57,379 yuan, covering vehicle options, charging and financing.
Overseas markets remain a key growth driver. The B10 and C10 global models entered Argentina in August, while the company is working with Stellantis to develop local sales and service networks.
Management expects overseas sales of about 200,000 vehicles in 2026, above its previous target range of 100,000 to 150,000.
Leapmotor also signed an agreement last month with China FAW to deepen their strategic partnership, with the 2 companies set to collaborate in 10 areas.
