Geely’s Smart #2 city car reached dealers across China

The Smart #2 city car from Geely and Mercedes-Benz reached dealers across China shortly after its Paris Auto Show debut. The Couture limited edition of this pocket-sized car previously became available for order in China at 112,999 yuan (16,890 USD).

Despite the Couture Edition becoming available for reservations in China, the regular #2 city car reached local dealers. It is finished in two exterior color schemes: red with a blackened roof and white with golden pillars. The Smart #2 rides on 16-inch wheels with staggered tires (185/50 in the front and 205/45 in the back). This urban driver has a charging port in the rear fender on the driver’s side.

The interior of the Smart #2 at Chinese dealers is finished in a black & white color scheme. The car’s seats feature yellow piping. There is a 12.8-inch touchscreen complemented by an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster in the dashboard. Other highlights include circular air vents and a gear shifter mounted behind the steering wheel. The car adopts 256-colour ambient lighting, seven Sennheiser-branded speakers, and the #2 inscriptions on the dashboard and seats. It also has a split tailgate.

The Smart #2 arrived at dealers across China with a CATL-made 35.8 kWh battery pack. It sends power to a 60 kW (80 hp) e-motor in the rear axle. This combination is suitable for 410 km of CLTC range. The pack could be charged at 65 kW DC, ensuring a charging time from 10% to 80% within 20 minutes. The chassis comprises a MacPherson in the front and a five-link independent suspension in the rear.

Dimensions of the regular Smart #2 are 2746/1669/1555 mm with a wheelbase of 1,875 mm. The Couture’s length is 2,764 mm. The turning radius is 3.35 meters. As mentioned, the Smart #2 Couture Edition is available for orders in China, limited to 999 units. Prices for other trims remain undisclosed. Meanwhile, the #2 entered Europe with four trims.
